CAPTURE

3DM has combined advanced mobile laser scanning and 360° image capture resulting in a precise, efficient, and immersive data capture process. 3DM can capture all public & mechanical spaces on a cruise ship in under a week. This data is accessible any time for the life of the vessel and can be used in hundreds of applications and for an unlimited number of projects.  Learn more about the capture process here.

We offer options to accommodate your projects - Project Capture, Vessel Capture and Construction Capture.

PROJECT CAPTURE

1 - 2 DAYS

Specific areas are multi captured or laser captured, processed and then used for a specific project. Most common applications for this data processed it into 2D and 3D models for architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC engineering. And for virtual and visual tender packages, vendor access, project management and progress reporting. 3DM can manage and store this data for the life of the vessel.

Examples of Project Captures:

  • Hull

  • Mechanical Refits

  • Public Spaces Refits

  • ADA Compliance

  • Ballast Water Treatment planning and installations

  • Drydock, refit and construction management

VESSEL CAPTURE

2 - 6 DAYS

All available and accessible areas of the vessel are multi-captured including the hull. The data is stored for the lifetime of the vessel, we call this capture and keep. The immersive 360° image capture and all visual applications are available immediately and for the lifetime of your vessel. However, only when the laser scanning data is needed is it processed and made accessible, this can be tomorrow or in ten years, we call this model as you go. Any vessel modifications after the vessel capture can be captured by 3DM or other partied and then added to your vessels digital model so it is always as built.

  • Ballast Water Treatment planning and installations

  • Drydock, refit and construction management

  • Hybrid and digital twining

  • Contractor and shipyard project planning and preparations

CONSTRUCTION CAPTURE

KEY MILESTONES

Construction progress is captured at predefined milestones, with each capture following the same walking route.  This provides a visual record of the vessel across time. During construction the captures can be used for remote vessel viewing, project management and walk-through collaboration and reporting. All capture data is stored with locations cross-referenced. This gives the ability to go back in time to compare specific location progress. This is extremely beneficial long into service life as any past capture can be accessed allowing insight into what’s in the wall and celling.

  • Visual project management, automated video and 360 image capture, filed notes, data sharing, split screen comparison over time, image tagging and notes

  • Remote virtual walk though

  • Progress tracking and reporting

  • Post construction what’s where reference

  • Validate As-Built condition against engineering plans
